Southside Flyers Player Update

PLAYER UPDATE: Naz Hillmon has returned to the United States for personal reasons but is expected to rejoin the squad next week in Round 14 for our clash against Townsville Fire.
Head coach Kristi Harrower reflected on the importance of supporting players during challenging times, saying:
“When I started with the Flyers, Gerry Ryan spoke to me about the importance of family and being a vital part of the Flyers culture. This is an example of the organisation living up to the talk. We will certainly miss Naz this week, but she needed to be with her family at this time.”
While Naz is temporarily out, the Flyers are thrilled to welcome back centre Carley Ernst, who returns after being sidelined for several weeks due to injury. Known for her ability to anchor the team with her defensive presence, rebounding strength, and shooting range, Carley’s return couldn’t have come at a better time as the Flyers continue their push toward the postseason.
Coach Harrower shared her excitement:
“An exciting opportunity for the group, and it’s great to welcome Carley back. Her leadership and versatility will be crucial as we navigate these important games late in the season.”
In addition, guard Nikita Young is back in action after a four-week recovery from an ankle injury.
Round 13 promises to be a test for the Flyers, but the team is ready to rally together with a strengthened line-up and a renewed focus.
