Tera Reed – Welcome to the Flyers
The Flyers are delighted to welcome former Melbourne Boomer, Tera Reed to the team for the 2024/25 WNBL season.
Reed is a member of the New Zealand national team and has played in the WNBL for the last two seasons so is well known to Flyers’ fans. She has a close association with the Flyers new coach Kristi Harrower, and combined with her wish to stay in Melbourne, it was an easy decision to make – joining the ‘Only Team in Town’.
Reed is known as a great team person and has been a fan favourite during her basketball career. In an interview back home in New Zealand last year, after being named the New Zealand Female Player of the Year, she described herself as being super competitive but always trying to get the vibes up to ensure the team has fun and enjoys what they do.
At just 14, her dream of playing basketball at the highest possible level really started when she moved away from her family in New Zealand to the USA to improve her skills. Staying on in the USA, she played collegiate basketball while studying for a business degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Welcome Tera, we look forward to seeing you in the Flyers colours during the 2024/25 WNBL season.
Flyers’ Membership will be on sale from 9am on Monday September 9.
