Thank You Flyers Family

March 7, 2025 | Southside Flyers news

While we didn’t enjoy the on-court success this season, thanks to the support from our incredible members and supporters, it was another entertaining and exciting Flyers WNBL season.

We were unable to enjoy the number of victories we were all hoping for, but there were many close games and a great atmosphere at the State Basketball Centre with the Flyers Family in fine voice.

It was great to celebrate with a victory over Adelaide in front of the Flyers fans in our final home game and then to finish the season with another victory in Sydney was a deserved finish for the team.

There was a focus on development, and while we all wanted more victories, the development of several players throughout the season, in particular Dallas Loughridge and Manuela Pouch, was very pleasing and a great sign for the future.

“Everyone is disappointed we didn’t get more wins and that we are not playing finals and that is something we will continue to work on. Off the court, the support and noise at our home games is incredible, and it is fantastic to be part of the Flyers Family,” Kristi Harrower said after the final home game.

  • Most Valuable Player: Naz Hillmon
  • Most Improved: Dallas Loughridge

Flyers in Australian Colors

While the official season is over for the Flyers, the work does not stop. Kristi Harrower is on the coaching panel and Maddy Rocci is in the official squad for the upcoming Opals (Australian National Women’s Team) Trans-Tasman series against New Zealand in May.

Assistant Coach Jo Wood has been selected as an Assistant Coach and Manuela Puoch is in the squad for the Australian Women’s Under 19 Team (Gems) for the FIBA Under 19 World Cup.

Thank you to all the members and supporters for the ongoing support,  you make a Flyers home game a great experience and the best in the WNBL.  With the development during the season, and the work already happening to set up next season, we are very confident we are on the right track to bounce back quickly in the 2025-26 season and look forward to the continued support of the Flyers Family.
