THE BLOCK DOCTOR IS BACK
Back in Australia following the U19 Women’s World Cup in Spain, Nyadiew Puoch is also back with the Flyers for another season in the WNBL.
It has certainly been a busy 12 months for Puoch who joined the Flyers for her debut WNBL season last year and quickly become a fan favourite. Dubbed the ‘Block Doctor’ in appreciation of her ability to reject opposition shots, Puoch won the Flyers X-Factor Award in her debut season.
As well as having a huge impact in her firs WNBL season and being part of the Australian U19 team, the last 12 months has seen Puoch join the Opals squad and in the off-season travel to Portland, Oregon to be part of the Nike Hoop Summit.
A Dandenong junior, Nyadiew represented the Dandenong Rangers from Under 12 through to Under 18 level. She enjoyed a very successful junior career that includes representing Victorian Metro in the Australian Championships, winning gold in 2019 and 2021 and silver in 2022 where she was awarded the MVP of the Championships.
Welcome Back to the Block Doctor, we are all looking forward to seeing the continued development of such an exciting young player with the Flyers in WNBL24.
Flyer Membership will be released in August and more player announcement will be made soon.
