This week’s round seven of the WNBL will be its Reach Out round, in recognition of the importance of mental health.

Given this Sunday for both the Flames and the Kings will be WNBL-NBL double-header, both the men’s and the women’s side will support the initiative and aim to shine a light on mental health, encouraging people to reach out in times of need.

The Reach Out round serves as a friendly reminder to check in with loved ones over this extended period of hardships.

The round is supported by multiple support services, such as Beyond Blue, headspace Ballarat, Kids Helpline, Lifeline and Reach Out. To read more and access any of these services head to the WNBL website.

The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames and the Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings will be focusing on mental health and mental wellbeing this week. The Flames have selected ReachOut as their organisation that they’ll be supporting this week.

This week on both the Flames and Kings platforms some of our players will be sharing their own personal stories, while our players will be reaching out via our social media channels.

The Reach Out messaging will be incorporated into gameday at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.

Our key message to everyone is that it’s okay not to be okay, and the first step is reaching out.

Sunday’s double-header at Qudos Bank Arena starts with the Flames games tipping off at 12.30, while the Kings game against New Zealand will start at 3 pm.
