11 home fixtures headline Flames’ bumper WNBL25 schedule

The Sydney Flames are excited to unveil their bumper WNBL25 schedule, headlined by 11 home fixtures this summer.

Of those 11 games in the Hoops Capital, four of those will be double-header alongside the Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena – with the other seven being on the Flames’ home court, Quaycentre.

Flames president Victoria Denholm is thrilled to unveil the Flames’ exciting schedule, ahead of what is slated to be a massive season for the club.

“We have built an incredible roster with some familiar faces and some new upcoming Australian talent,” said Denholm.

“This will be the hottest ticket in town, and we’re excited to see what they can achieve on court.

“The competition was incredibly tight last season and every game counts – so we need to make sure we’re taking care of business at home.”

Guy Molloy’s side’s season will open with a double-header at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday, November 3, with the Flames taking on the UC Capitals from 1.45pm AEDT before the Kings battle Tasmania from 4.15pm.

10 days later, the Flames will host their first game of the season at Quaycentre, where they’ll lock horns with Bendigo from 6.45pm.

A hallmark of Sydney’s games at Quaycentre this campaign at Saturday evening fixtures, including November 30 (versus Geelong for the first-ever time at 4.45pm), December 7 (versus Perth from 7.15pm), January 25 (versus Perth at 5.15pm) and February 15 (versus Southside from 5.15pm).

With games against Adelaide (Sunday, December 22 from 12.15pm) and Townsville (Wednesday, February 12 at 6.45pm) rounding out the club’s match-ups at Quaycentre.

WNBA TALENT TAYLOR SIGNS ONE-YEAR DEAL WITH FLAMES

The other three harbour city double-headers, at Qudos Bank Arena, will take place on Monday, December 30 against Southside (4.45pm), Thursday, January 2 versus Bendigo (4.45pm) and Sunday, January 19 against Adelaide (11.45am) – with the latter being the club’s annual Pink Hoops event supporting the McGrath Foundation.

The Flames’ 10 road fixtures in WNBL25 are November 9 (Southside), November 20 (Adelaide), November 23 (Perth), December 14 (Geelong), December 18 (Townsville), January 9 (Canberra), January 12 (Bendigo), January 17 (Geelong),  January 23 (Townsville) and January 30 (Canberra).

The WNBL’s semi-finals are slated to tip-off on Saturday, February 22 before the three-game championships series starts on Wednesday, March 5.
