More than 8000 tickets sold for Flames’ blockbuster with Flyers
With just three days remaining until the Sydney Flames’ blockbuster with the Southside Flyers tips off, the club is excited to announce they’ve already sold 8,000 tickets to the Qudos Bank Arena fixture.
The response by the NSW basketball community has been amazing, with the Hoops Capital club experiencing a huge demand from fans wanting to thank Lauren Jackson for all she’s done for the sport, in what could potentially be her last professional game in the harbour city.
As such, all signs point to the Flames breaking the WNBL’s all-time crowd record of 7,681 fans – set during the Flames wing against Southside at John Cairna Arena on February 4, 2023.
“We’ve been blown away by the response of fans wanting to be part of this historic fixture at Qudos Bank Arena,” said Hoops Capital executive director Paul Kind.

“Our goal was to break the all-time crowd record and thanks to all our loyal fans around greater Sydney, it seems like we’re on track to do so.
“Not only does this game give the people of Sydney to thank NSW junior and arguably the country’s best basketballer Lauren Jackson for all she’s done for the sport but the clash itself will have huge finals ramifications for both sides.
“We all can’t wait for Sunday to arrive and I encourage anyone who doesn’t have a ticket already, to purchase them now and experience this special event, that will be talked about for years to come.”
Tickets to the 2.45pm AEDT showdown are still available here.
