Flames-Kings Double Header this Saturday
In a nod to the rich history of basketball in Sydney, the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames and the Sydney Kings will both play at Qudos Bank Arena this coming Saturday, giving fans the opportunity to see two games for the price of one.
Dating back to 1991 and continuing for the best part of a decade, the men’s and women’s teams in their respective national leagues, joined forces to provide great entertainment to all Sydney basketball fans every game night at the old Kingdome.
This weekend, the Flames tip off at 3:00pm against the Perth Lynx, followed by the Sydney Kings against the Brisbane Bullets at 5:30 pm.
There will be plenty of home grown talent on show with both teams boasting Australian squad members. Jason Cadee and Brad Newley recently represented the Boomers at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, while Katie-Rae Ebzery and Belinda Snell were named in the Opals squad ahead of the Commonwealth Games. Inject imports such as Jerome Randle, Jeremy Tyler, Asia Taylor and Jen Hamson and a highlight reel is sure to be on display.
With both the Flames and Kings fighting to secure a big win over their opponents, this is an entertaining afternoon of basketball not to be missed!
