Sydney Flames duo Emma Donnelly and Jade Crawshaw have helped their NSW side take out the gold medal at the recent under 20s Australian Championships in Geelong.

During the February 14-19 tournament, NSW, coached by Sydney Kings Ring of Honour member Tom Garlepp, recorded Pool A wins against ACT (95-48), South Australia Blue (92-38) and Tasmania (65-60) while losing 72-67 to Victoria.

The two Flames amateur player’s side then progressed to the quarter-finals, where they South Australia Red 79-57.

This set up a semi-final showdown with Queensland, which they triumphed in 79-69.

This saw NSW advance to the big dance, against the only side that had handed them defeat in Geelong, hosts Victoria.

But thanks to a game-high 24 points by Donnelly, NSW prevailed in the decider 71-61 to secure the national title.

The pair will now return to Sydney, ahead of the Flames’ first-ever Pink Round fixture against Adelaide on Friday at Quaycentre, with tickets still available via here.
