Flames gear up for Sydney Kings double-header
The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames have begun preparations for this weekend’s blockbuster double-header with the Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena.
The group will look to bounce back from a physical road-trip, which begun with a much-needed win over Bendigo on Friday and disappointing loss to Melbourne on Saturday, playing two tough games in the space of 24 hours.
The Flames will be hoping to return to the winner’s list this Sunday with a victory over the visiting Adelaide Lightning, who also suffered a loss at the hands of Southside in their last game.
Sunday will be the Flames’ first opportunity to host a game during the WNBL’s ‘Orange the World’ round, where the league and clubs are championing ‘Orange the World’ initiatives through various game day activities, all in a call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.
The colour orange, which will dominate jerseys across the league (the Flames will debut their orange jerseys on Sunday), will seek to bring global attention to the issue of violence against women and girls. More information available here.
