Flames ready to ignite during pivotal Flyers fixture
After two tough defeats in round 11, the Sydney Flames are poised for a big rebound this week – starting with their road match against the Southside Flyers.
While the results were difficult to deal with, Flames assistant coach Renae Garlepp is confident her side has learnt from them and expects an improved performance this round.
“Consistency for full quarters [is the main aspect we’ve taken away from the two losses],” Garlepp said.
“[As well as that] focusing on what we can control will be key, as we’ve shown some glimpses of our potential.
“Being more consistent in these areas will help us play the basketball we aim for.”
Garlepp went on to state how important all three upcoming matches with the Flyers are for semi-final spots – with Sydney and Southside sitting in fifth and fourth respectively.
“[These Flyers fixtures are] incredibly important,” Flame #148 said.
“The ladder is super close and the depth of the league has been great this season, so for us to finish in the top four these games will be key.”
