Flames ready to rebound against Lynx
The Sydney Flames will aim for a quick rebound on Wednesday when they travel to Bendat Basketball Centre to take on the Perth Lynx.
Despite dropping their season-opener to Bendigo on Saturday, Flames guard Tiana Mangakahia admits her outfit took a lot from the fixture.
“Bendigo is a great team and the first game of the season is always tough, we got a lot out of it and will learn from it as a group,” Mangakahia said.

“There are always areas for improvement – we lacked in defensive transition and moving forward we have to make sure our spacing on offence is better as a team.”
The round two fixture also marked the Syracuse alum’s first in the WNBL.
“Playing my first WNBL game was great – I’m happy to be back in this league playing with the Flames,” the 27-year-old said.
“I got some of the nerves out and can focus on the next game.”
The Hoops Capital side will now head west in search of their first win of the WNBL23 campaign, against a 1-2 Lynx side fresh off its first win against the Canberra Capitals.
“Defensively being aggressive and offensively controlling the tempo will be key against Perth,” she said.
“By doing what we do best, which is executing on offence, pushing in transition and getting up on the ball defensively will put us in the best position to win.”
The round three fixture, which will be broadcast on ESPN via Kayo and Foxtel, tips off at 9.30 AEDT on Wednesday, November 16.
