Flames thank fans for amazing WNBL24 season
With the Sydney Flames’ WNBL24 season coming to an unfortunate end on Sunday in Townsville, the Hoops Capital club wanted to take this opportunity to thank all their fans for the year that was.
The season as a whole has been a massive one for the harbour city club, both on and off the court.
On the court, Guy Molloy’s side recorded 11 wins – more than the past two seasons combined and their highest total since the 2017-18 season.

Off the court, the Flames’ membership numbers hit an all-time high, while also attracting the WNBL’s two biggest crowds of the season – 5,138 against Perth during the club’s inaugural Pink Hoops game and 6,834 for Sydney’s ‘Thank You’ Lauren Jackson game at Qudos Bank Arena.
The latter was also the club’s largest-ever standalone crowd.
“We’re so proud of everything our club has achieved during the WNBL24 season,” said Hoops Capital executive director Paul Kind.
“From our best season on the court in six years, to record crowd and membership numbers, we’ve been blown away by the support our Flames have received during the past few months.

“The atmosphere at all our home games was electric and it really feels like we are building something special here in Sydney with our Flames.
“A big part of that is our loyal supporters and for that, we thank all our fans for cheering loudly and making those amazing signs – I know all the players loved it.
“We can’t wait to do it all again next season and build even more success together.”

Looking ahead, the Flames squad already has Tess Madgen, Cayla George, Lauren Nicholson, Kiera Rowe and Shaneice Swain all re-signed for the WNBL25 season, highlighting why the club is confident that a return to finals is on the cards next campaign.
“With the star power we already have locked in for Guy Molloy next season, we’re in a super exciting spot as a club,” Kind said.
“We have the core of a great team, headlined by four Opals, and the plan will be to build on the platform we’ve established this season and produce bigger and better results in WNBL25.”
