Froling named WNBL’s Player of Round 15
Sydney Flames skipper Keely Froling has been rewarded for her amazing week on the court by being named the WNBL’s Player of Round 15.
The Townsville product opened the round by scoring a game-high 30 points (including 11/21 from the field and 6/7 from the charity stripe) in Friday’s Pink Game win against Adelaide at Quaycentre.
She rounded out that stat line with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Less than 48 hours later, the 27-year-old tallied 22 points, 12 boards, one steal and one block in the Hoops Capital side’s one-point loss to the Fire in Townsville.
As such, Froling, who is third in the league in scoring (18 points/game) and fifth in rebounds (8.7), was named in the WNBL Team of the Week, alongside fellow Flame Tiana Mangakahia – who 22.5 points and seven dimes across the weekend’s two game.
Joining the two Sydney stars in the five were Canberra’s Jade Melbourne, Melbourne’s Tiffany Mitchell and Southside’s Kayla Thornton.
“It’s awesome to be recognised this week in the team of the week with Tiana,” Froling said.
“It was a great weekend, especially with the Pink Game and us raising so much money for the McGrath Foundation.
“It’s nice to have a strong finish to the season and we’ll aim for a final win this Sunday.”
As Froling alludes to, her harbour city side will finish off their WNBL23 season this Sunday in Melbourne, when they take on the Boomers from 1pm AEDT at the Melbourne Sports Centre – with the fixture being broadcast live on 9Now.
