Hoops Capital congratulates Madgen on amazing career
Hoops Capital, the entity that encapsulates the Sydney Flames and Kings, would like to congratulate Tess Madgen on her amazing basketball career.
Flame #221 Madgen announced her retirement via Instagram on Monday evening – calling time on her decorated career.

That career includes a 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medal, two world championships medals (2018 silver and 2022 bronze) and a 2023 Asia Cup bronze – as well as 257 WNBL games, including her final 10 in the harbour city.
Across those 14 seasons in Australia, Madgen totalled 3,279 points, 1,278 rebounds and 869 assists.

Flames president Victoria Denholm thanked Madgen for the impact she’s made on basketball not only in NSW but across the country.
“Tess has been an incredible player on the court and an even more incredible leader off it,” Denholm said.
“We’re so proud that the Sydney Flames will forever be part of her WNBL legacy.”
The Flames open their WNBL25 season with a double-header at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday, November 3 – with Guy Molloy’s side taking on the UC Capitals from 1.45pm AEDT before the Kings battle Tasmania from 4.15pm.
