Johnson finishes with 37 for Ipswich

It was another great weekend for Brydens Sydney Uni Flames players on the east coast.
Starting south and travelling up, Britt Smart playing for Hobart had 33 points and 7 rebounds in their eight-point loss to Diamond Valley. Hobart then came up against Albury and won, 79-58, with Britt contributing 14 points and 5 rebounds.
Alex Wilson also had a double-header with Launceston where they first lost to Bendigo, 95-81. Wilson contributed 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The team then defeated Melbourne, 94-72, where Alex recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
The Southern Design Sydney Uni Sparks shook off a tough loss last week to take down the Canberra Capitals Academy, 59-54.
In her last regular season game before heading away on the Opals tour of China, Tahlia Tupaea put on a strong showing with 18 points and 5 steals. McSpadden finished with 10 points.
Further north to Queensland, in the QBL, new Flames recruit, Amanda ‘AJ’ Johnson’s Ipswich Force defeated Gladstone Port City Power, 98-94. AJ finished with 37 points and 14 rebounds.
In the NSW Waratah Championship, Sarah Graham’s Hornsby enjoyed a bye.
