Johnson Named 2018 QBL MVP
Following a fantastic season with Ipswich Force in the Queensland Basketball League (QBL), new Brydens Sydney Uni Flames signing, Amanda Johnson has been named the QBL Most Valuable Player for 2018.
The Californian forward led the league in two major statistical categories, averaging 25.2 points and 14.2 rebounds. She also added 4.85 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
Amanda led the Force to second position at the end of the regular season with a 16-2 record, however they came up just short in Finals, defeated by Southern Districts in the Semi Final.
Her most impressive scoring effort of the season was back in Round 2 where she scored 42 points and collected 19 rebounds in the Force’s win over Logan. The following game she was outstanding on the boards, finishing with 28 rebounds to go with 25 points. Amanda consistently produced great performances night in and out, scoring over 20 points in all but 4 games in 2018.
