On top of that, the Syracuse alum was named in round 13 Team of the Week, alongside Townsville’s Courtney Woods (21 points and 3.5 rebounds) and Tiana Hawkins (20.5 points and nine rebounds), Canberra’s Jade Melbourne (21 points and 11 assists) and Melbourne’s Cayla George (27 points and eight rebounds).
Saturday’s performance, which improves the Hoops Capitals side to 5-12 on the campaign, highlighted how much the Queensland product has taken her game to the next level since Shelley Gorman took over as coach.
During those four games, Mangakahia is averaging 18 points, 6.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds, compared to 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, two assists through the first 13 fixtures.

“They believe in me and trust me which helps me believe in myself.
“I’m also trying to take advantage of the opportunity Shelley has given me.”
The Flames return to the court on Sunday, February 19, where they’ll take on Melbourne at Quaycentre from 5pm AEDT – with tickets available here.
