Nicholson pens short-term deal with Spar Girona
Sydney Flames star Lauren Nicholson will look to continue her rich vein of form on the hardwood in the coming months, after penning a short-term deal with Spanish club Spar Girona.
Nicholson, who was recently named the WNBL’s Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year and member of the All-WNBL First Team, has signed with coach Roberto ΓΓ±iguez’s team as an injury replacement for Rebekah Gardiner until the end of the season in May.

Flames CEO Chris Pongrass, who can’t wait to see the Sutherland product back at the Flames in WNBL25, wished her all the best in Europe.
“Lauren had an amazing first season back in Sydney with the Flames in WNBL24 – deservedly winning numerous league awards,” Pongrass said.
“We wish her all the best in Spain and can’t wait to see what she and the rest of our exciting team can do next season.”
Nicholson is signed with the Hoops Capital side for both WNBL25 and WNBL26.
