SUMBA to play Flames first home game
Brydens Sydney Uni Flames are excited to announce the Sydney University Marching Band Association (SUMBA) will play at its opening game of the 2018-19 WNBL season.
SUMBA say they are “very enthusiastic” to be supporting professional women’s sport in Australia, especially given they will play the league’s season opener at the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre.
“We will be cheering for the Sydney Uni Flames as they go up against the University of Canberra Capitals in what’s sure to be a great match.”
SUMBA will be playing some new repertoire that they’ve been working hard on over the past few weeks of rehearsals.
“Get ready to jam out to some Beyonce,” they said. “We’re sure you’ll have as much fun listening to it as we’ll have playing it!”
Tip-off is at 7pm on 12 October at Brydens Stadium, home of the Sydney Uni Flames, following the team’s official season launch in the afternoon.
SUMBA say they are hoping to see as many of their basketball-loving SUMBA fans there as we can for what’s bound to be a fun Friday night.
Last season, SUMBA was a crowd sensation when they provided the fanfare for the Flames clash against Canberra in November. We look forward to welcoming the crew again in October.
