Swain signs with NBL1 South club Geelong
Sydney Flames’ Shaneice Swain, one of the country’s top young talents, has announced she will play for Geelong United during the 2024 NBL1 South season.
The Cairns junior, who was the 14th overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2023 WNBA Draft, will be looking to build on her debut season with Hoops Capital – which saw her average 12 points a game for Guy Molloy’s side.

New Geelong United women’s head coach Jamie Petty is eager to see what Shaneice brings to her new NBL1 home.
“I’m super excited to welcome Shaneice to the playing group,” Petty said.
“The myriad of ways she impacts the game will make her a handful for opposing teams.
“Her passing, scoring, and on-ball defence are at an elite level, and she has the professionalism off-court to match.
“Shaneice is sure to become a fan favourite at the Geelong Arena.”
Swain joins fellow Flames Kiera Rowe and Ahlise Hurst in the NBL1 South competition, with the pair playing for the Knox Raiders and Ringwood Hawks respectively.
