Toulouse stint helps Mangakahia tune-up for WNBL24
All signs are pointing to WNBL24 being Tiana Mangakahia’s best season to date on the court.
On the back of her exceptional end to WNBL23 with the Flames, the Queensland product jetted over to France for a quick stint with Toulouse Métropole Basket.
During her six-week stint in Europe, the 28-year-old put up averages of 6.8 points, 3.6 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 15.6 minutes per game.

“It was an amazing experience and definitely one I’ll never forget,” said Mangakahia, who was this week named in the Opals’ 19-person squad for the upcoming Asia Cup in Sydney.
“Playing overseas is such a learning experience – being surrounded by a new culture definitely helps you grow as an individual.
“It was unreal to play in another elite competition, with a different style to the WNBL, as well as a different system – both of which have made me a more diverse player.”
The Syracuse alum has now returned to Brisbane to ramp up preparation for her second year with the Hoops Capital club.
“I can’t wait to get back to Sydney and compete in the WNBL for a championship with the Flames,” she said.
