Wilson named in All-SEABL Second Team

Alex Wilson was on Sunday named in the All-SEABL Second Team following a string of outstanding performances for Launceston this season.
She joined Bec Cole (Melbourne Tigers), Keely Froling (Canberra Capitals), Emilee Harmon (Albury/Wodonga Lady Bandits) and Rachel Jarry from Sandringham in the team. The announcement followed Launceston’s 14-point win over fellow Tasmanians, Hobart.
New Flames player, Britt Smart top-scored for Hobart in their 99-85 loss to the Tornadoes, contributing 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, while Alex added 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Launceston finished fourth on the ladder and will take on Bendigo in the first week of finals, while Hobart finished just outside of the eight in ninth spot.
Similarly, the Southern Design Sydney Uni Sparks finished in 11th place after a win and a loss at the weekend. The Sparks fell to sixth-place Melbourne, 97-90, before getting on top of seventh-place Sandringham, 85-56.
In their win, Shanae Greaves contributed 10 points, while Lara McSpadden added 9.
In the QBL, Amanda ‘AJ’ Johnson contributed to Ipswich defeating the South West Metro Pirates with a huge double-double, finishing with 29 points and 17 boards.
