Wilson records double-double in preliminary final win

Alex Wilson was dominant in the SEABL Semi Final on Saturday when the Launceston Tornadoes beat the Nunawading Spectres, 75-65, to secure a spot in the SEABL Grand Final.

Ally finished with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, plus 8 assists, in a fantastic all-round performance.

Launceston will take on Bendigo in the League’s Grand Final this Saturday at Victoria’s State Basketball Centre.

Amanda Johnson was one assist shy of a triple-double when her team, the Ipswich Force, defeated Mackay, 95-72 in QBL.

AJ led her team with 12 points, a massive 17 rebounds and 9 assists. They now move on to the Semi Finals this weekend where they play Southern Districts.

The Waratah Championship had a week off prior to the Finals weekend this week.

Sarah Graham’s Hornsby Spiders feature in one of the Semi Final against the Sutherland Sharks, while the Norths Bears play the Newcastle Hunters in the other Semi. The Final will be played at Hills stadium on Sunday.
