WNBL hits news attendance milestone

At the conclusion of round 13 of the Cygnett WNBL23 season, the competition hit a new attendance milestone, exceeding 100,000 spectators to games this season.
The milestone was cracked at the Melbourne Boomers matchup against Bendigo Spirit at the Boom Box (Melbourne Sports Stadium) in Parkville on February 5.
This is the first time the league has reached 100,000 in the regular season in the past decade.

The previous regular season attendance record in the past 10 years was 96,527 in the 2016-17 season, which was after 19 rounds.
The milestone comes after the WNBL broke the record for the biggest crowd at a stand-alone WNBL game at John Cain Arena, with 7,681 fans flooding to the Southside Flyers and Sydney Flames showdown – which the Hoops Capital side won by one point.
The Flames return to the court on Sunday, February 19, where they’ll take on Melbourne at Quaycentre from 5pm AEDT – with tickets available here.
