Breakfast with the stars

The stars have signed on for the JCU Townsville Fire’s inaugural International Basketball Breakfast at Michel’s next month.

With championship winning coach Claudia Brassard and Opals mentor Sandy Brondello confirmed for the event, England coach Jose Maria Buceta and Team Canada’s Director of High Performance Denise Dignard will also round out an All*Star panel on the eve of the Commonwealth Games.

With the three nations vying for medal supremacy, Brondello, Buceta and Dignard will provide the audience with a unique insight into their preparations ahead of the opening pool games.

Brassard, who medalled with Australia at the Under-17 Oceania Championships last year and is a former captain of Team Canada, will also share her views ahead of the Games.

“We’re looking forward to the event,” Fire General Manager Richard Goodbody said.

“We’ve assembled a world-class speaking panel, who have been generous enough to share their time ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

“I’m sure our audience will relish the chance to hear from the world’s best.”

Tickets are $75 per person or a table of 10 can be purchased for $700 and is limited to just 100 patrons and includes a sit-down breakfast.
