JCU Townsville Fire championship winner Mikhaela Donnelly has produced an electrifying weekend to start this week’s Winter Update.

The former under-19 Australian captain was simply unstoppable over the weekend as she led Logan to back-to-back wins.

Donnelly posted a massive triple-double against Toowoomba as she registered 19 points, 16 rebounds and 16 assists to lead the Thunder to a 111-52 victory.

Fire teammate Zitina Aokuso was in good touch too with 16 points and eight rebounds.

The next night, the Thunder made it two-from-two with a 74-61 win over Cairns.

Donnelly was dominant once again with 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists, while Aokuso finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

A team-high 24 points from Casey Samuels could not lead North Gold Coast to victory.

The Fire recruit also added five boards and four rebounds, but Ipswich prevailed 100-72.

The Townsville Flames split their Central Queensland double-header despite missing four of their players.

With Darcee Garbin, Alex Fowler and Stella Beck all absent on international duties – and Haylee Andrews missing due to College commitments – the Flames still managed a 91-84 victory over Gladstone.

Micaela Cocks narrowly missed a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Miela Goodchild top-scored with 34 points and 12 rebounds.

The Flames dropped just the second game of their season against Rockhampton, however, as the Cyclones recorded an 86-71 victory.

Cocks continued to lead from the front with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Finally, Australia finished the Four Nations tournament in China with a 5-1 record.

With injuries to Kelsey Griffin and Jenna O’Hea, the Chemist Warehouse Opals were no match for China in the final game as they suffered a 49-75 loss.

Darcee Garbin finished with four points and five rebounds, while Tess Madgen registered three points and an assist.
