FIRE ANNOUNCES NEW RECOVERY PARTNER

The JCU Townsville Fire are excited to partner with the Recovery Lab: Wellness and Recovery Centre, for the WNBL 2022/23 season.

The Recovery Lab Townsville is home to an array of equipment that our players can use to enhance their physical and mental recovery to maintain their high-level performance on the court.

JCU Townsville Fire General Manager, Sam Pascoe said “the new partnership with the recovery lab, is exciting for the Fire. We are always looking for ways to provide our athletes with the very best both on and off the court. We take the High-Performance area of professional sport very seriously.

With a heavy schedule and as the WNBL team in the league that travels the furthest distance through the season, the Recovery Lab will go a long way to assisting our players and assuring we are in the best condition each time we take to the court…”

Head of Performance, Brent Gorris emphasized that the Recovery Lab will reinforce the professionalism within the club.

In a rigorous schedule such as the WNBL, recovery methods such as cold-water immersion, infrared sauna, compression boots, Electrical Muscle Stimulation and NuCalm will allow our team to not only reduce the risk of soft-tissue injuries, but also perform at their best throughout the season…”

Owners, Lauren and Matthew Scott both come from a military background where they experienced the rigorous and demanding environment of strength and conditioning training. The couple now provide education on the importance of recovery whilst guiding their members to enhanced everyday performance.
