The JCU Townsville Fire have announced Townsville RSL as their finals partner for the 2017/18 WNBL campaign.

Looking to secure their third WNBL crown in the past four seasons, the Fire, who will host the Sydney Uni Flames on Thursday night in the opening semi-final, have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Townsville RSL as the club’s official venue partner.

In addition to activating at Thursday night’s home semi-final, Townsville RSL will broadcast the Fire’s away fixtures – with all games broadcast on Fox Sports – on Queensland’s biggest indoor TV screen.

Fire General Manager Richard Goodbody said the club valued their partnership with Townsville RSL and were grateful for their increased support as they entered the 2017/18 WNBL finals.

“Townsville RSL makes an invaluable contribution – not only to the Fire but the broader Townsville community,” Mr Goodbody said.

“The support that they afford is invaluable to our club.

“They boast outstanding amenities – as demonstrated at our season launch and up-coming MVP – and provide our members with a home away from home to be able to watch our broadcast games on Fox Sports.

“We’re extremely grateful for their support.”

The Fire host the Flames in game one of the WNBL semi-finals at Townsville Stadium from 7pm on Thursday night.

Members and fans are encouraged to watch game two of the series at Townsville RSL – 139 Charters Towers Rd, Hyde Park – from 2pm on Saturday, January 6.
