Fire set to go Old Skool
The JCU Townsville Fire are poised to go ‘Old Skool’ on Saturday night as part of their retro game against Dandenong.
With just three rounds remaining in the WNBL, the Fire (10-6) are assured of a top-two finish should they close out the regular season with five wins.

However, the Rangers (7-9) are playing for their lives and already boast a series win after sweeping the Fire on their home floor.
“We’ve been extremely below par when we’ve played them,” Fire captain Suzy Batkovic said.
“I don’t think we got out of second gear against them at all and we just kept doing the same thing over and over again. It was a bit disastrous.
“They’ve beat us twice and they might be our bogey team, but there’s no reason for it. If we want to win a championship and we’re serious about it, we’ve got to beat every team anyway.
“We’ve got all the advantages (this weekend) so we’ve just got to make sure that we utilise them and we come ready to go.”
The Rangers are poised to meet Sydney Uni on Thursday night before flying to Townsville.
Having ruptured her ACL, Sara Blicavs will be missing for the remainder of the season, while Spanish legend Laia Palau is also absent with a leg injury.
The Fire will wear a one-off throwback uniform for the game.
