Tickets to the opening game of the 2017/18 WNBL Grand Final series at Townsville Stadium go on sale at 9am on Wednesday morning.

With the exclusive members’ pre-sale now over, Fire fans can fill the furnace as they chase their third WNBL crown in four seasons with seats available through The Ticket Shop.

During the home-and-away rounds, the Fire swept the Melbourne Boomers, securing home court advantage for the best-of-three series.

Game two of the series will be held at the Victorian State Basketball Centre on Thursday, January 18 with the Boomers already confirming a sell-out.

The series will return to Townsville Stadium on Sunday, January 21 should game three be required.

With the WNBL adopting a best-of-three finals format in 2015/16, the competition is yet to see a third and deciding game in any series.

Earlier today, Fire coach Claudia Brassard implored fans to secure their seats, with a full house ensuring a hostile environment for the Boomers.

“The Fire fans are our sixth man,” Brassard said.

“We always talk about how we have the best fans in the league – we truly believe it – and they pick us up when things aren’t going great and they drive us home when we’re on top.

“Let’s hope we have a full house on Saturday.”

Tickets can be purchased via The Civic Theatre or the Riverway Arts Centre, by phoning (07) 4727 9797 or online.
