Garbin makes rally cry
Two-time JCU Townsville Fire championship winner Darcee Garbin is hoping her side can repay their faithful against Perth tonight.
Since opening in 2011/12, Townsville Stadium has become the competition’s most feared fortress, fuelling the Fire to five of the past six Grand Final appearances including three titles.

But with a 2-4 record at home this season, the reigning champions can ill afford another loss when they host the Lynx from 7pm.
“I guess in previous years we’ve protected our home court and only dropped a couple during the season so it hurts losing at home,” Garbin said.
“We hope that people stick with us and still come out to the games, but if we get Perth this week that’ll be massive for our confidence.
“I know they have beaten us up here and they’ve been playing really well, but a lot of those games have been at home.
“It’ll be interesting to see how they do go on the road after that big loss to Dandenong, travelling back to Perth, and then back up here.
“We have lost the series, but a win’s going to not only be great for our confidence, hopefully it also puts us back up there with those other teams (in the top four).”
While a decision on Suzy Batkovic’s fitness will be made later today, there is no uncertainty around Zitina Aokuso.
The 19-year-old was spotted in a moon boot earlier this week as part of a preventative injury plan on a hot spot in her foot but she is a 100% certain starter.
