JCU Townsville Fire championship winner Darcee Garbin has guided Australia to victory against Canada overnight ahead of the World Uni Games.
Fresh off 26 points and 10 rebounds against Japan, Garbin again led the way against Canada as she top-scored with 21 points and four rebounds as they collected a 79-52 win.

Australia finished the Four Nations warm-up tournament with a 2-1 record after dropping their first encounter to the U.S.A.

Competing at her second World Uni Games, the JCU business student, who is majoring in sports management, has been the focal point of Australia’s offence, showing all the skills that has her primed for a career-best WNBL season.
During the winter months, Garbin has been in spectacular touch in the QBL, leading the Townsville Flames with a team-high 23.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
The 23-year-old is considered one of the leading MVP candidates.
The Emerging Opals commence their World Uni Games campaign against Lithuania on Monday before further games against Argentina (August 22) and Russia (August 23).
