| AFTER two weeks off the court, Townsville Fire players have returned with plenty of motivation to get back on their court, with the WE ARE ROUND taking place this Saturday night.
While a few in the squad have played plenty of basketball in the last fortnight with the FIBA Olympic pre-qualifiers, the players that stayed behind did not get it easy.
They were worked overtime by coach Shannon Seebohm as he fine tuned the game plan ahead of the vital clash with Southside Flyers at Townsville Stadium.
The Fire are looking to secure their first win at home for the WNBL 19/20 Season. |

PLAYERS TO WATCH
JCU Townsville Fire
Bridget Carelton – The Canadian International has returned from a whirlwind trip back to Candida for country representative duties, watch her come out strong with a phenomenal 3 point shot, and her hunger for a win as she becomes more comfortable playing in the WNBL
Kate Gaze – The JCU Townsville Fire’s fan favorite has been working double time in the FIBA break and her hard work is not going unnoticed with Head Coach Shannon Seebohm. Kate is a strong role player in the team and will be key coming off the bench this Saturday
Southside Flyers
Leilani Mitchell – The star point guard has had an exceptional start to the season and has shown class and experience from start to finish each game.
Mercedes Russell – the import is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds per game. Her 198-centimetre frame, ability to guard the key and pull in rebounds will make her one to watch this Saturday. |
