January 11, 2017 | Townsville Fire news
JCU Townsville Fire guard Amy Kame has earnt her second selection in the WNBL Team of the Week after producing a blistering performance against the UC Capitals.
In just 13 minutes, Kame registered 16 points at 70 per cent from the field to go along with five rebounds and two steals.
Since debuting for the Fire, Kame has been a spark plug coming off the bench for the two-time reigning WNBL champions, hustling at both ends of the floor.

Having enjoyed a whirlwind return to the United States for Christmas, the 24-year-old said she felt reinvigorated after seeing her family and friends.
“I think the Christmas break was a good thing for me,” Kame said.
“I think having that time at home and regrouping ... I definitely feel really confident and it’s been nice to get wins.
“It was nice to get out and hit some shots, but I feel like every game I go out and try to play defensively that same way.
“I try to make an impact on that end of the floor, and I felt that I did that.
“I just got some open shots and knocked them down.”

Having reeled off five consecutive wins, the Fire can force their way into the top-four this week with a return bout against the Capitals in Canberra.
The hosts will be desperate to keep their own post-season hopes alive after rebounding on Sunday with a victory over Sydney Uni.
The Fire face the Capitals from 2pm on Saturday.
