The JCU Townsville Fire are ready to launch their latest championship assault ahead of the 2017/18 WNBL season. With the WNBL poised to return to TV after signing a three-year broadcast agreement with Fox Sports in April, the release of the playing – and broadcast – schedule remains highly anticipated. Since 2013/14, the Fire has been ranked number one in the WNBL across the following categories. Having played in four of the past five WNBL Grand Finals – including back-to-back championships in 2014/15 and 2015/16 – the Fire’s average TV audiences were 11% higher than the league average in 2014/15 and 15% in 2013/14.
