JCU Townsville Fire 3 x championship winner Mia Murray will return to the WNBL for season 20/21

The JCU Townsville Fire welcome the return of Murray to their team for the upcoming season, with a reputation over a long period of time for being a big-game player, the 2015 Grand Final MVP will be back in Fire colours after taking two seasons away from the court and welcoming the arrival of her son Sidney last year.

The Rachael Sporn WNBL medallist is a fan favourite and a much-loved member of the North Queensland Community.

“We are excited to welcome Mia back to the JCU Townsville Fire this season, there is no question Mia is an extremely talented player, but she is also has a fantastic attitude and is a great person and a great role model for our club” Sam Pascoe General Manager Said.

Murray said she was delighted to be returning to court in Fire colours;

“I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to play for the JCU Townsville Fire this season ”

“The club has played a huge part in my life and I look forward to building on the success we have previously enjoyed on and off the court, I am keen to play again at an elite level and to grow as a player under head coach Shannon Seebohm.”

Head Coach Shannon Seebohm is thrilled to have Murray returning for her 8th. season with the club,

“It is great to welcome back a player of Mia’s calibre and a champion of the club, Her skill set combined with experience and her character will be invaluable to the club”

Mia will be a fantastic addition to the team, and I am excited to coach her in the upcoming season.” Seebohm Said.
