For those hoping to enter the dynamic and extremely competitive world of professional sports, there’s nothing more valuable than hands-on experience. The Fire internships offer a unique entry into the field and a chance to make the connections that are essential for a successful career.

Internship opportunities are available in the following categories for the upcoming WNBL season

Off the court

Public Relations and Community Relations 

• Assists with compiling statistical packets and handling credential requests.
• Supplying content for the website and social media channels.
• Organises and tracks donation requests.
• Accompany players and staff to community appearances.

Social Media and Marketing

• Assist in the ideation, gathering and creation of multiple content types for social channels, including editorial, photos, videos and graphics.
• Assist in the development of marketing strategy to elevate the brand identity.
• Contribute ideas to the Fire content team.
• Assist in copywriting.
• Assists with contests and promotions at home games.

Game Night Staff

• Work with Game Night Staff to help put on the best “show” in the WNBL.
• Work with the script, run sheet and presentation of the numerous home games.
• The opportunity to work closely with the marketing staff, team and front office staff to produce pregame, halftime and postgame shows!

On the court

There are also several opportunities to join the team on the court. 

Work with the team’s support staff in the following areas:

• • Physiotherapists 
  • Sports Science
  • Massage 
  • Become the team operations coordinator
  • There is no other role that allows you access to the team’s inner sanctum. You will be integral to the support staff, assisting at training and game days.
• Sports Management
  • If you have a passion for sports management, there is an opportunity to join the team on the road this upcoming WNBL season.
