Townsville Fire to Retire Micaela Cocks’ Number

The Townsville Fire is thrilled to announce that Micaela Cocks, one of the most beloved players in the club’s history, will have her number retired in a special ceremony during the team’s first home game of the 2024/25 WNBL season.

The retirement of Cocks’ number will take place on Saturday 16thNovember, as the Fire face the Bendigo Spirit in their long-awaited home opener.

Cocks, who wore the number thirty-two, is a true legend of the game and the club. Over her illustrious career, she played an integral role with the clubs three WNBL championships (2015, 2016, and 2018)

“Having Micaela’s jersey hanging in the rafters will serve as a lasting reminder of her incredible contributions to our club, both on and off the court,” said General Manager Sam Pascoe. “She exemplified what it means to be a Fire player, and we’re honoured to celebrate her legacy with this momentous occasion.”

The evening will feature a special half time ceremony
