Townsville RSL to broadcast GF3

Townsville RSL will broadcast the 2017/18 WNBL Grand Final series after tickets sold out for the third and deciding game in just 70 minutes today.

With the Melbourne Boomers forcing a game three with a thrilling one-point victory at the Victorian State Basketball Centre on Thursday night, the WNBL championship goes on the line from 6pm tomorrow night with the victor taking the spoils.

Townsville RSL will broadcast the match – and the ‘After Party’ irrespective of the result – with the Fire’s playing and coaching staff to attend the venue following the game.

“The demand for tickets this morning was overwhelming,” Fire General Manager Richard Goodbody said.

“The three WNBL Grand Finals have attracted more than 8000 fans – a series record – and both clubs can be thrilled by those numbers.

“With Townsville Stadium at capacity, we’d encourage anyone who wants to watch the match to attend the Sports Bar at Townsville RSL and to cheer the Fire home.

“The official post-game function will then be staged at the venue – irrespective of the outcome – as we celebrate our fifth Grand Final series in six seasons.”

The Fire host the Boomers from 6pm on Sunday night with the game broadcast live and exclusive through Fox Sports.
