Zitina Aokuso to Depart Townsville Fire for New Opportunities in Europe
The Townsville Fire is announcing today the departure of standout and long-term Fire player, Zitina Aokuso, who has agreed to an offer to continue her basketball career in Europe. Aokuso, an integral part of the Fire’s recent successes, will be taking her talents to the European leagues, marking the end of a significant chapter with the Fire and setting the stage for the next phase of her burgeoning career.
Since joining the Townsville Fire at just 18 years of age, Zitina played her 150th game for the club last season, a fan favourite, Zitina has been an important part of the clubs success both on and off the court, winning 2 championships in her time with the club.. From her presence on the court, to her dancing on the sideline Zitina will always be a Townsville Fire player
“Zitina has played every game of her career so far at the Fire so she will be missed next season here in Townsville. She has won two championships during her time here and improved her game each and every season. We’re proud of her and wish her well in her move to Turkey for next season,” said Shannon Seebohm.
