It’s a quick turnaround for the UC Capitals, as they prepare to take on Perth Lynx just three days after going up against the Southside Flyers at a packed out National Convention Centre.
Head Coach Kristen Veal believes the short time between games is good for the side, as they gain momentum on the court.
“You can start to feel us building,” Veal said.
“I think Adelaide you could start to feel it, Sydney felt like a wake up call again and you could start to feel it rising and developing the way we wanted it to against Southside.”
“There’s always going to be some tender bodies when you’re playing at that level and at that physicality, but we’re excited to playing four games in 10 days.”
Keeping composed and competitive up against Opal heavyweights in Bec Cole, Sara Blicavs and Lauren Jackson on Sunday night, they’ll need to do the same against Sami Whitcomb who has been firing.
Perth enjoyed two wins at the start of the season but have lost their last five. They will go into this one confident though, after beating the Caps 97-62 in Round 2.
But the Caps have shown significant improvement since then and are a different team to the one that lost to them more than a month ago.
“We’d like to be probably further down the line in terms of having our bodies healthy and fit and ready to go but in terms of where we were to where we are now, this will be a really nice measure and I have no doubt we’ll show great improvements since that game.”
The UC Capitals play two games in Round 7, heading to Sydney on Thursday to take on the Flames on Friday night.
