The UC Capitals will play their fourth game in 10 days after a 3-0 dream run.
Although the Sydney Uni Flames will not make playoffs, as they currently sit sixth on the ladder, a win over them will help the UC Caps secure a second place or higher finish.
The Flames are coming off a four-game losing streak and have nothing to lose. If things click for them, as they did in Round 3 when they upset the reigning champs, they could be seriously dangerous.
However, the loss of key player Alice Kunek has undoubtedly been a major blow for Sydney. The 3×3 star who has played alongside Keely Froling in the Australian team suffered an elbow injury while playing against the Townsville Fire in Round 9 which put her out for 12-16 weeks.
The Flames now only have three games left in the regular season to find their rhythm and to finish on a high.
The UC Capitals have had a day off since their Wednesday victory, but after an intense week, their biggest challenge will be holding onto their momentum for another Round 15 game.
Kelsey Griffin’s return proved to be a major boost for the team after contributing 8 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in her 21 minutes on court. Griffin will likely remain on restricted minutes on Sunday to manage her load to ensure she’s healthy for finals.
