The University of Canberra Capitals are pleased to announce the appointment of Christy Collier-Hill as the club’s new Executive General Manager.

Christy joins the Capitals after three successful years as Head of the WNBL, where she led the league through a period of significant growth – increasing fans and driving record fan engagement, expanding global broadcast reach, and growing commercial partnerships.

University of Canberra Director of Sport Carrie Graf said that the club is excited to welcome Christy and her extensive experience in professional sport on board.

“We’re thrilled to have someone of Christy’s calibre join our organisation. Her experience as a highly regarded sports administrator will continue to drive our growth as she leads us through a very exciting time for women’s basketball, not only in Australia, but also across the globe,” she said.

Christy is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Capitals and build on the club’s strong foundation in the Canberra sporting landscape.

“The UC Capitals are at an exciting inflection point, with incredible momentum leading into the 2025/26 season. This club has a rich history as the most successful franchise in the league, and I’m eager to work with our players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and, most importantly, our passionate fans. Together, we’ll strive for our 10th Championship on the court and set the benchmark for excellence off it.” she said.

Christy, who is a Canberra-local and a former Caps player herself, takes over from Lucille Bailie, who recently moved to the WNBL head office as the league’s club growth and engagement manager.

Christy will commence in her role on Monday 31 March.
