Basketball Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Christy Collier-Hill as the new Head of WNBL.

Christy is currently the General Manager of the Melbourne Boomers and a member of the Marketing and Communications Advisory Committee for the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Basketball Australia CEO Matt Scriven is delighted to welcome Christy following an extensive and competitive selection process.

Matt said “Christy is a highly respected sports administrator who is well placed to drive the growth strategy of the WNBL. Christy has a strong commercial and operational background and with her passion for creating opportunities for women in sport it’s an exciting time for the WNBL. We look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Christy on today’s announcement said “I’m extremely pleased to join the team at Basketball Australia, having been part of the WNBL family this appointment is a great opportunity for me to continue to drive the profile of women’s sport. With the Women’s World Cup coming up next year, and a full WNBL season about to start it is a great time for women’s basketball and the opportunities are endless.  I look forward to working closely with all the clubs as we embark on an exciting season of world-class basketball.”

Christy takes over from Lauren Jackson AO OLY who is heading up the Women and Girls strategy for Basketball Australia.

Christy will start in her new position on January 17.
