The Perth Lynx’s domination of the 2017/18 season continued into Round 11 as they extended their winning streak to 13 while they are now just a victory away from securing top spot.

Courtney Williams has been the catalyst for their current form and she was unstoppable again over the weekend, averaging 33.5 points, 2.5 assists and four steals to earn the Round 11 Player of the Week.

Against a desperate Lightning team keen to keep their finals hopes alive on Friday night, Perth found themselves trailing by four points at half-time.

However, Williams had kept them in it with 13 points in the second term which included a three-pointer and that form carried over into the second half as she tore apart the visitors.

Playing arguably the perfect quarter, she recorded 16 points on 7-7 shooting as well as a block on 198cm Ruth Hamblin to move the Lynx in front by three-quarter time.

She then snuffed out any hope of a comeback from Adelaide with a quick four points to start the final period for Perth before her team mates chimed in to help run away with a 99-82 victory as Williams tallied 41 points on 19-25 shooting.

The Lynx then headed to Melbourne on Sunday to face the Boomers in a top of the table clash and Williams set the tone with four steals, including two on Liz Cambage, as well as eight points by quarter-time.

She added another eight in the second term to help her side stay in front by five at the main break but the Boomers charged at them in the second half and while Williams recorded a huge block on Cambage, she could not stop them cutting the deficit to just one at the last change.

Another steal for Williams kick-started the fourth period and the teams went back and forth at each other until the Lynx guard went on a 5-0 run for her side in the space of 30 seconds to give them some breathing room.

Trailing by three on the last possession, Melbourne still had a chance to take it to overtime but Williams recorded her sixth steal for the contest to clinch a massive 92-89 win.

Courtney Williams Round 11 Stats: 33.5 points on 30-45 shooting (67%) including 3-3 three-point shooting, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, four steals and one block per game.
