In a truncated round, Brydens Sydney Uni Flames still see two of their players named in the Round 12 Team of the Week as Player of the Week Asia Taylor is joined by her point guard, Leilani Mitchell.

The Opals star was a big part of the Flames sweep of the round, averagingÊ19 points, 3.5 assists and two steals as the Flames moved into third place on the ladder.

Joining those two Sydney Uni players is Sami Whitcomb of the Perth Lynx who has now broken her record from last season with a tenth nomination after recording 22 points, five boards five assists and four steals last weekend.

While the Deakin Melbourne Boomers fell to Townsville on New Year’s Eve, Brittany Smart shone in the loss at both ends of the floor withÊ16 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks.

The nomination is Smart’s second consecutive on the season.

Rounding out the team is Suzy Batkovic of the JCU Townsville Fire who once again owned the paint against the Boomers to lead her side to a fourth consecutive victory behind 18 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and a block.

It is Batkovic’s fifth nomination for the season and fourth straight to coincide with that winning streak.
