Five familiar faces lead the Round 17 Team of the Week with every member appearing for at least their third time in season 2016/17.

Suzy Batkovic heads the team after winning her third Player of the Week award.

With 28.5 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks across two victories that have put the JCU Townsville Fire in the box seat for a playoff position, Batkovic also earns her an eighth Team of the Week nomination which equals her tally from last season.

She is joined by Fire team mate Mia Murray who has been named for a third time after averaging 21 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in those two wins while hitting 7-14 (50%) overall from beyond the arc.

Sami Whitcomb again starred for the Perth Lynx as they secured an important win over the Caps to keep their top two hopes alive, tallying 27 points in 33 minutes on 10-17 (58%) shooting with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

She has now been named in 13 out of 17 Team of the Weeks for the season including five of the past seven rounds.

While the University of Canberra Capitals did fall to the Lynx on Sunday, they recorded a win over Adelaide on Friday night and Marianna Tolo’s consistency also earns her a place in Team of the Week.

She averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and a steal in those two games and has recorded her fourth straight nomination and seventh overall.

Rounding out the team is Asia Taylor of the Brydens Sydney University Flames who defeated the Boomers in a tight contest thanks to their import’s game-high 28 points and 15 rebounds to go with two steals.

For Taylor, it is her eighth nomination of the season.
