For the second consecutive week, the University of Canberra Capitals have a Player of the Week with Kelsey Griffin earning the honours to also place her in Team of the Week.

She averaged a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds in two victories to keep the Caps on top of the ladder.

The other unbeaten team are the Bendigo Bank Spirit (2-0) and their starting centre, Becca Tobin, has made her second straight appearance after recording 21 points, 11 boards, three assists, one steal and two blocks in a win over Dandenong.

After a disappointing opening to the season, the Deakin Melbourne Boomers got on the winners list last weekend and point guard Lindsay Allen earns a spot in the Team of the Week after averaging 16.5 points, seven assists and 1.5 steals in a split of Round 2.

The reigning MVP and six-time Team of the Week representative from last season, Suzy Batkovic of the JCU Townsville Fire makes her debut for 2018/19.

She had a monster performance in a win over Adelaide with 19 points, 12 boards, five assists, three steals and three blocks and finished with averages of 21 points, nine rebounds, 3.5 assists, two steals and 1.5 blocks after Townsville fell to Perth on Sunday.

Rounding out the Team of the Week is Brittany McPhee from the Perth Lynx who scored a league-high 32 points in their impressive win over the Fire.

Perth drilled 15 three-pointers as a team in that game and McPhee knocked down four of those, shooting 11-19 from the field overall and she complemented that with seven rebounds and an assist.
