The Chemist Warehouse WNBL is delighted to award Todd Spain with WNBL Life Membership, following his 150th game as a referee in the League.

Currently in the North Queensland hub where he is one of 14 referees officiating the 2020 season, Spain achieved the 150th milestone during the UC Capitals vs Perth Lynx game at Cairns Pop-Up Arena on Thursday 26 November.

Spain started out with Eltham Basketball Association in Victoria. He played 15 years of junior local competition followed by five years of senior domestic and began his refereeing career at the age of 12, looking to find a new experience within the sport.

“This isn’t the end by any means, and I know that Todd is looking forward to officiating in the WNBL for many years ahead.”

Beyond his on-court responsibilities, Spain is also well known for his positive contributions in all refereeing forums, education sessions and praised for his engaging and sincere personality, teamwork and support for his peers.
